KUIM forges smart partnership with seven agencies in Melaka
MELAKA,. Kolej Universiti Islam Melaka (KUIM) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with seven agencies in Melaka in its efforts to produce quality human capital that meets industry requirements.
The seven agencies are Melaka Hari Ini, Halal Economy and Ummah Entrepreneurship Council Malaysia, Mini Malaysia and ASEAN Cultural Park, Melaka Malay Chamber of Commerce, Kolej Antarabangsa Dunia Melayu Dunia Islam, Buletin Dunia Melayu Dunia Islam, and Ames Hotel.
In a statement today, it said the smart partnership aimed at giving space and opportunities to KUIM to expand its expertise and knowledge sharing, as well as generate research to assist the state government in human resource and economic development in the digital era.
The MoU signed with Melaka Hari Ini covers aspects of research and innovation, module development, training and expert services (short-term courses), corporate social responsibility, industrial training, industry outreach programmes, and publication of articles.
Meanwhile, the collaboration forged with the Halal Economy and Ummah Entrepreneurship Council Malaysia includes offering courses, and graduate and postgraduate programmes in the fields of halal study, economy, entrepreneurship, welfare, humanities and environment.
KUIM said the collaboration with Mini Malaysia and ASEAN Cultural Park was related to research and innovation, consultation in various fields related to training and expert services, industrial and staff training, as well as in marketing and finance.
It would work together with the Melaka Malay Chamber of Commerce Malaysia in an industrial attachment programme while the cooperation with Kolej Antarabangsa Dunia Melayu Dunia Islam would allow the sharing of information, resources and database for the purpose of research, it said.
Meanwhile, the collaboration with Buletin Dunia Melayu Dunia Islam covers research and innovation and industrial training, among others, while its cooperation with Ames Hotel will allow the hotel employees to continue their studies at KUIM.
The signing ceremony which took place on Thursday was witnessed by Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali and state executive councillor for Education, Science and Technology, Green Technology and Innovation, Noor Effendi Ahmad, while KUIM was represented by its vice-chancellor, Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Taib Dora and deputy vice-chancellor (Research and Innovation), Assoc Prof Dr Afizan Azman.
