
Moderate earthquake hit southern Sumatra
KUALA LUMPUR,. A moderate earthquake of 5.2 on the Richter scale hit southern Sumatra, Indonesia at 8.36 am today.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department’s statement, the earthquake occurred at 232km southeast from Siberut, Indonesia, with the depth of 89km.
However, it does not pose a tsunami threat to Malaysia.
