
PAIP denies viral message on Kobat water intake point
KUANTAN,. Pengurusan Air Pahang Berhad (PAIP) has refuted a report which making its rounds on social media claiming that the Kobat water intake point is almost full and water will be released into Sungai Bukit Rangin, causing floods.
Its chief executive officer Saiful Zaini Mohd Bokhari said that the statement issued by certain parties was not true and done in a highly irresponsible manner.
“PAIP is of the view that this news was disseminated just to create anxiety among the public. Following that, we would like to advise the public not to believe statements made by unverified sources.
“PAIP calls on the public to refer to the official statement issued by PAIP only,” he said in a statement.
Recently, a report was making its rounds on social media asking residents in the Sungai Isap Permatang Badak area to make necessary preparations as it claimed that the Kobat water intake point was almost full and at any time the gate would be automatically opened to release water to Sungai Bukit Rangin, causing floods.
